Located just a short 15 minutes south of the Rubber Capital of the World, Akron, today’s feature course, Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown, offers one of the area’s best public golfing experiences - bar none. Designed and built in 1962 by the team of Harrison and Garbin, Chippewa has matured into a spectacular and scenic golf course that is sure to serve as the perfect host for your next great round.

Whether you choose to test your skills against Chippewa Golf Club’s testy layout from the Blue, White, Gold, or Red tees, you’re sure to encounter both plenty of challenge as well as plenty of opportunities to score. The front nine, the most forgiving of the two, plays comparatively shorter than the back at just over 3,200 yards from the tips. With limited water in play (only showing its face on #4 and #8), and the course’s easiest hole (the par-3 6th) smack-dab in the middle of the layout, the front gives you your best chance to get out ahead of par and birdie your way to negative numbers.

The back nine, playing just over 3,500 yards from the back set of tees, is a different story altogether - with plenty of challenge and risk vs reward opportunities standing between you and finishing with a low score on the day. The drink plays a bigger role here, coming into play on #14, #15, and #16 in a big way - a stretch of holes which also happens to feature two of the course’s three biggest challenges and goes by the moniker “Bermuda Triangle.” Add in heavy areas of mature trees and rolling undulation throughout just about every fairway, and you’ve got yourself a tall order in conquering the back. To do so, you’ll need a strong performance with your flat stick, as many of the greens, especially on the Bermuda Triangle, are large, heavily undulated, and lightning quick in peak season.
