Playing just a few yards over 6,200 from the back set of tees, challenge here is frequent but not overwhelming. The fairways are fairly narrow, so be sure to stay accurate with whatever club your hit off of the tee. Speaking of accuracy, you’ll also need to contend with plenty of areas of water, which comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes, so be sure to always be aware. There’s no relief on your approach shots either, as the postage-stamp greens are often surrounded by tactically placed sand traps that offer little room for misses left or right.

No round at Timberview is complete without a showdown between you and the course’s signature challenge: the par-3 14th. Though not the longest hole by any means at 145 yards from the tips, 14 requires a delicate and accurate read on distance as well as angle to not end up in the drink that surrounds the green on both sides and around the back. Come through 14 dry, and you’re well on our way to finishing strong for the day.
