Blackwood Golf Course
Play a Pennsylvania staple with today’s feature: $20 for 18 Holes with Cart at Blackwood Golf Course in Douglassville ($53 Value. Expires June 1, 2019!)
Beautifully laid out on 140 acres of stunning Berks County countryside in southeastern Pennsylvania, today's feature course, Blackwood Golf Course in Douglassville, is unquestionably one of the Commonwealth’s most enduring places to play. Designed by architect William F. Gordon and opened for play in 1970, the now properly matured course has all of the hallmarks of exceptional golf without the pretense – making it a truly enjoyable place to play.
A scenic course that is perfect for players of all skill levels, Blackwood perfectly mixes playability and challenge to create a one-of-a-kind Pennsylvania playing experience. Fairways, though sometimes tree-lined, are often wide open here, and the course is forgiving to those who struggle with accuracy off of the tee. Water is in play on several holes, but golfers who are concerned with shooting a low score should focus mostly on staying in the fairway and hitting the greens in regulation – an essential part of approaching par at Blackwood.
Though every hole on the golf course offers golfers something special, the string of holes beginning with the 12th are truly spectacular. Hole 12, a 350-yard par 4, is perhaps the course’s most beautiful hole but also one of the most challenging thanks to both a pond and creek in play. Even if you avoid these with your tee shot, you haven’t quite escaped danger yet as water stays in play on your approach – swallowing up shots that miss the green right. Like most holes at Blackwood, the green on 12 is small, so aim accurate and be accurate if you want to hit the putting surface in regulation .
Whether today’s feature will mean your first visit to Blackwood, or your first one this week, one thing is absolutely certain: you’re in for an incredible round. Don’t flirt with disaster by letting this one pass you by – reserve your round at Blackwood now!
