Tanglewood Golf Club
Established in 1991 and designed by course architect William Newcomb, Tanglewood Golf Club is a semi-private club that offers a challenging layout, beautifully manicured greens and three different nines to choose from. Given its country-club atmosphere, its no wonder why this fantastic 27-hole facility was voted "Best Golf Course" in Metro Detroit in 2009 by Channel 4 WDIV’s "Vote 4 The Best" contest.
Once on the course, you'll learn quickly to appreciate the pristine views and lush surroundings "The Lion" has to offer — especially on the West course, where you will find one of the most unique green designs in the country. Molded to mimic the shape of Michigan's Lower Peninsula, West No. 6 is even detailed with a miniature Mackinac bridge and "beaches" on its west coast. Of course, this also means that the green is surrounded by water so accuracy is a must, as it is on several other water holes.
Beyond great course conditions, Tanglewood Golf Club offers highly experienced staff that can help you with every service a golf course has to offer, whether its booking your leagues and outings, acquiring lessons from their PGA-certified teaching professionals, or simply re-gripping your clubs. A driving range and short game practice area are also on hand to keep your game sharp before or after your round.
The wealth of options at Tanglewood Golf Club means that you'll itch to come back and experience "The Lion" again and again.
