Woodland Golf Club's undulating landscape was designed for golf even before Jack Kidwell touched it. Like most of the great architects of old, Kidwell focused on using the natural lay of the land very wisely, as opposed to bulldozing everything and creating a "landscape" artificially by moving around a lot of dirt.

His 40-year-old layout spans 6,473 yards of Champaign County and has a course/slope rating of 69.9/122. One more thing you’ll find at Woodland Golf Club that’s always pleasant during play is a lack of housing development along the fairways and behind the greens.

The balance between beauty and challenge is augmented by four distinct tee locations that cater to every level of golfer and copious amounts of sand and water — there’s no lack of bunkers, creeks and ponds throughout the tree-lined fairways of Woodland. However, it won’t take long to realize that like most great designs, with great risk comes great reward.
