Binder Park Golf Course
Today’s GroupGolfer feature leads us to southeast Battle Creek: $20 for 18 Holes with Cart at Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek ($41 Value. Expires October 31, 2019!)
Binder Park Golf Course opened in 1963, the culmination of a process that started with the generous donation of a six-hundred acre parcel of land by the Charles Binder family in the early 1950s for the purpose of promoting local parks and outdoor recreation programs. The golf course was expanded in 1999 to a total of 27 holes, solidifying its status as the "bedrock" of the area's public golf community, as it has for nearly a half a century.
Located just off of I-94, this Charles Scott design is not one to pass up on your way through. Beautiful scenery and challenging holes make Binder Park Golf Course an exciting, yet relaxing place; the ideal way to spend a day at a golf course. You'll find an appropriate challenge for your skill set, as Binder Park has three nine-hole courses to choose from and three different sets of tees for each.
Each course possesses its own distinct characteristics, and the names of each course provides some insight into what to expect: The Marsh, The Preserve and The Natural — and you'll want to just give them all a shot. The entire property is routed through the glacier-formed natural terrain of Battle Creek with no sign of residential housing in sight. You'll come across old-growth forests, wetlands, dramatic elevation changes and even the occasional deer, given its seclusion and back-to-nature feel.
As if you didn’t have enough choices to make with the variety of this course, one look at the clubhouse menu and you'll have some more to make. Stop by to try one of their famous sandwiches or simply to grab a beer after your round. You'll also find the Pro Shop. fully stocked with golf’s top brands, as well as a helpful and knowledgeable staff ready to make you look and play your best out on the course. And before your round, loosen up and take a swing at the 35-tee driving range or practice your short game at the 3-hole practice facility.
Whichever path you decide to take, we trust that you know we wouldn’t steer you wrong with your round at Binder Park Golf Course.
