Now a stunning 18-hole layout, Tipton Municipal originally started as a simple 9-hole track. Designed by golf course architect Bill Diddel and opened for play in the mid-1930s, the course soon expanded with a second nine coming just 30 years later. Now, playing 6,600 yards from the back set of tees, the full 18 is truly a marvel - with challenges and chances to score coming around just about every turn.

As you make your way through the round, Tipton's layout will force you to negotiate around 1,500 trees, eight dogleg holes, and the waters of both the Buck and Cicero Creeks winding in and out of play at various points throughout your round. There are 25 bunkers on the course to punish errant shots, and the greens, small and round, are smooth and true despite the many rounds they host each year. All of this combines to create a mature municipal playing experience you simply won't find anywhere else - which makes Tipton a must-visit.

Speaking of must-visit, the course also sports plenty of great amenities to aid and add to your day of fun. The practice area features a driving range, putting green, and chipping green, and the fully stocked clubhouse features a small golf shop and snack bar.
