Leslie Park Golf Course is Ann Arbor's favorite course, and with good reason. Opened in 1967, this championship layout was designed by E. Lawrence Packard, with subsequent renovations performed in 1995 by Arthur Hills. The makeover performed on the original design has made Leslie Park the recipient of several prominent awards, including Golf Digest's "#1 Municipal Course in Michigan," Ann Arbor News' "Best Place to Golf," Michigan Golfer's "Top Ten Muni's" and Michigan Golf Network's "Top Ten Funnest to Play."
This par-72 championship course is located in the rolling hills of northern Ann Arbor on Traver Road, just north of the University of Michigan campus. Before being carved into a course, Leslie Park was once a farm, orchard and laboratory to Eugene and Emily Leslie. The 200-plus acres on which the golf course now sits, with its varying topography and rolling terrain, is one of the prettiest parcels of property in Ann Arbor and was purchased from the Leslie family in the early 1960s in order to begin construction on the course.
Given its status as one of the top courses in the area, Leslie Park Golf Course hosts a number of annual events for the City of Ann Arbor and also Miles of Golf Championship Series, which includes the Men's Amateur Championship, Women's Amateur Championship and the Senior Championship. Leslie Park is also proud to have hosted a number of GAM and USGA tournaments.
If you work up an appetite or just need to stock up on some of the pre-round essentials, make sure to stop by the club house. You can enjoy a casual, relaxing meal from the refreshment area or on the patio, before or after your round, featuring panoramic views of the golf course.
Leslie Park Golf Course comes highly recommended from the some of the most reliable sources, so take this opportunity to visit for a new-season round, and we're certain the view will not disappoint.
