Placid Lakes Golf Course features a completely re-imagined course founded in 2005. An extreme overhaul of every aspect of play — fairways, greens, bunkers, sand traps and more — has turned this facility into one of the best in the heart of Central Florida's lake country.
Your day starts out simply enough — No. 1 is a 527-yard par-5 that doglegs gently to the left with a wide, forgiving landing zone and a relatively unprotected green. Things escalate quickly, however, on No. 3. This 450-yard par-4 is the #1 handicap due to its narrow landing zone that splits two water hazards and a bunker thrown in for good measure.
Another notable hole is the par-4 No. 8, with its forced carry from every tee box across a large pond. Even then, you'll have to contend with the small green fortified by a trickster bunker that has tempted many a player into coming up short with the wrong club in hand. Though the final hole features a hazard-flanked landing zone similar to No. 3, the large circular green also is much more accommodating, allowing players to a solid last chance for birdie.
It is recommended that players make use of the natural-grass driving range prior to teeing off. After the day out on the course, players are welcome to have a seat in the Restaurant and Bar. With a full menu and cold beverages, it's the perfect end to a perfect day at Placid Lakes Golf Course, with relaxing views of the No. 1 tee.
