Blue Mountain Golf Course
Take on a mountain masterpiece with today’s feature: $20 for 18 Holes with Cart at Blue Mountain Golf Course in Fredericksburg near Lebanon ($43 Value. Expires July 1, 2021!)
Designed by Marlin Gibble and known as a true player’s course, today’s feature, Blue Mountain Golf Course in Fredericksburg, is a true Pennsylvania classic. Opened in 1963 and now known as one of the hallmarks of Lebanon Valley golf, these exceptional 18 holes and their superb relaxing atmosphere are to be missed by no one.
There’s a reason that golfers who visit Blue Mountain have nicknamed it “a jewel in the mountains:” the gorgeous undulated layout. The spectacular Lebanon Valley landscape lends its elevation generously throughout the layout, creating some of the most picturesque vistas and interesting golf holes that you’ll find anywhere. Playing just over 6,000 yards from the back set of tees, you won’t need to hit the ball 300+ yards to score well here, but you will have to approach each shot with careful consideration, as selecting the right clubs is paramount to putting yourself in a position to make par.
Though the landscape may look fairly forgiving except for some water and trees in play, the true difficulty in besting Blue Mountain is all about distance control – with the abrupt and sometimes sneaky changes in elevation a frequent cause for second-guessed shots. Carrying a course rating of 68.8 and measuring a slope of 115 from the back set of tees, the cherries on top of this already spectacular course are its championship-style greens. Perfectly manicured and as smooth rolling as they come, your flat stick will be one of your key weapons at Blue Mountain if you want to shoot a low score.
Along with the golf course, the Blue Mountain facility features all the amenities you need to play, look, and feel your best. The practice area is complete with a driving range, chipping green, and putting area to help you warm up your swing, and the extensive pro shop features a variety of golf wearables and accessories. After your round, the newly renovated snack bar offers the perfect spot for a toast and a bite to eat.
