Black Bear Golf Club
GroupGolfer challenges you to “Dare the Bear” with today’s feature: $32 for 18 Holes with Cart and Range Balls at Black Bear Golf Club near Orlando ($65 Value. Tax Included. Expires December 1, 2021!)
Black Bear Golf Club, located near Orlando, tests golfers with its links style layout, unlikely for Central Florida. Designed by P. B. Dye, the course features 18 challenging holes with hills in every direction and water threatening your ball around every turn. The Black Bear layout extends well over 7,000 yards and features undulating greens, dramatic fairway elevation changes and over 120 natural sand bunkers set in pristine Central Florida surroundings.
The hills along the par 72 course allow for miles of landscape views everywhere you look. Look closely and you’ll see an array of Florida wildlife popping in to check out your game. Well-placed mature trees are scarce on this wide open course, but don’t underestimate their presence. Tight, Tif Eagle greens force players to pay close attention to their short game if they want to keep their score low. This course has served as a qualifier for the Florida USGA Publinks Championship, Hooters and Canadian tours and for the Florida PGA.
Four sets of tees give golfers of every playing level the chance to test their skills at Black Bear, boasting a 72.7 course rating and 134 slope rating. For a bit of extra bang for your buck, try the 19th “shoot out” hole to end your round on a fun note or to settle a long-lived golf rivalry with your buddy.
The staff at Black Bear take pride in the conditions of their beloved course, making sure their guests have only the end of their drive to worry about. The 400 yard double-ended driving range offers 4 levels of tees and 7 target greens to help hone your game. If it’s your short game that needs work, try the 40,000 sq. ft. practice facility consisting of a short game area, large practice green and practice bunkers, all within a few yards of the clubhouse and first tee.
Black Bear Golf Club is truly one of Central Florida’s favorites as first-time players soon become regulars on the meticulously-manicured greens.
