The Adirondacks are home to some of the nicest Mountain golf courses in the United States, and today’s feature course, Tupper Lake Golf Club, is absolutely one of the best. Built in the heart of Adirondack Park and sporting a scenic layout that truly looks like something you’d see in the pages of a golf magazine, Tupper Lake’s elegant layout is worth a visit for the views alone.
Established in 1932 and designed by one of the most renowned names in golf architecture, the incomparable Donald Ross, Tupper Lake takes full advantage of the surrounding landscape to provide a playing experience that isn’t only beautiful, but also fairly challenging. Playing just over 6,100 yards from the back set of tees, the course sports tree-lined fairways, frequent rolling changes in elevation, and fairly large sand bunkers both in the fairways and surrounding the greens. This puts shot execution and course management at a high premium – so be sure to consider all eventualities before stepping up to make your shot.
Tupper Lake also requires an extreme amount of concentration to best, not just for its challenging layout, but also the incredible breathtaking views present throughout. Allow yourself to take them in on the tee boxes and greens, but do your best to settle down and concentrate on your round if you want to shoot a low score on the day. Trust us, we know it’s hard!
Along with the beautiful course and its superb conditions, you’ll also find plenty of great amenities at Tupper Lake. The clubhouse features one of the area’s best pro shops and a practice area that sports a full-service driving range and putting green. After your round is complete, the course is home to Burgundy Steakhouse – a must stop for after-round drinks and plenty of delicious American fare.
New York golf doesn’t get better than this. Reserve your round at Tupper Lake now!
