The course at Sequoyah National is a testament to the vision of its architects, Robert Trent Jones II and Notah Begay III, and the proud heritage of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee who own it. The course was built in 2009 and underwent significant enhancements in 2020, including a complete bunker renovation and the introduction of capillary concrete bunkers, as well as the transition of tees, fairways, and green surrounds to Zeon Zoysia grass. These improvements were executed under the guidance of the original course designers, ensuring the course's condition is optimal all year round.

Playing at a par 72, the course offers a variety of tees to accommodate all skill levels. The Black tees provide the most challenge at 6,517 yards, while the Jade tees offer a more manageable 4,572 yards. The meticulously groomed bent grass greens contrast beautifully with the Zoysia fairways, and the course’s elevation changes provide spectacular views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, enriching the playing experience with nature’s grandeur.

The expansive practice area at Sequoyah National is a highlight, featuring a driving range, putting greens, and a chipping area, all set against the backdrop of the Smokies. The facility, equipped with both artificial and grass hitting stations, allows for a full range of shots, and the practice short game area ensures that golfers can hone every aspect of their game in the most scenic of settings.
