The Meadows Golf Club of Blue Island
Enjoy a fun round that requires a bit of crafty play with today’s feature: $22 for 18 Holes with Cart and Range Balls at The Meadows Golf Club of Blue Island in Blue Island near Chicago ($53 Value. Expires October 1, 2014.)
Picture this: It’s a perfect day in the Midwest — the sun is up, the ground is soft and you’re primed and ready to go. The only question remaining is where to play, and for that, The Meadows Golf Club of Blue Island provides the perfect answer. Measuring 6,541 yards from the back tees, this par-71 features impeccably manicured fairways, smooth greens and a challenging layout that plays to its par.
Located just a short drive south from downtown, The Meadows offers an excellent playing experience for the beginner, the veteran and everyone in between. Designed by J. Porter Gibson in 1994, it owes its 71.3/121 course/slope rating to tricky hole locations, large natural waste areas and a few wicked doglegs. Though its par-3s don't rank too high on the handicap index, they're longer on average than most courses of comparable length and are all-too-easy to drop a stroke on.
Of course, the longer par-3s add up to shorter par-4s, so there are plenty of opportunities to get a few back. Your best bet is to take advantage of No. 7, a 334-yard par-4 and the easiest hole on the course, and finish strong on Nos. 16, 17 and 18.
The Meadows Golf Club of Blue Island isn’t all about the golf course, either. Golfers can work on their game and warm up before their round at the full-service driving range and practice area. The clubhouse (which is rentable for private parties in the offseason) features a fully stocked golf shop that carries the best from golf’s biggest brands. And as an authorized retailer of Titleist, Bridgestone, TaylorMade, Ping, Footjoy and more, the staff have great latitude in helping you select the right equipment and apparel to take your game to the next level.
Don’t miss your chance to test your skills on the fairly difficult and rather interesting layout at The Meadows Golf Club of Blue Island, one of suburban Chicago's most enjoyable public golf facilities.
